Disney 65 episode rule Petition

Statement of the petition

To: Walt disney corporation (Burbank, CA)

The disney 65 episode rule, the Evil rule that ends disney shows at 65 episodes. the channel, disney, ends all its shows at 65 episodes then, well, the show ends, goes out of production, For two years or so: re-runs, then after that, it gets forgotten, like you forget the rain after it has gone away.

A lot of Disney Channel fans are aware of the 65 episode rule but it isn't truly clear why this rule remains, especially after you took the greatest shows out of production. Fans had to sadly see their favorite shows come to an end after such a short term.

isney has a 65 Episode Rule that Michael Eisner and Frank Wells created back in 1984. They created the policy because they wanted to force the Disney Channel to continually have to come up with new shows instead of relying on the popularity of their existing ones no matter how popular the show may be when the 65th episode is aired. In addition to the fresh show idea, Eisner and Wells thought that cancelling shows early would also increase the sales of the episodes once they were released on home video as well as any subsequent movies based on the show. I think this is the stupidest policy ever implemented and can't figure out why Disney still sticks to it (for the most part).

There have been a few Disney shows that have gotten passed the 65 episode policy. Gargoyles and Kim Possible were both originally cancelled at 65 episodes, but the fans managed to petition for an additional season of each. Darkwing Duck, Timon and Pumbaa, Ducktales, Aladdin, Goof Troop and That's So Raven have all exceeded the 65 Episode Policy as well. A few other shows have also been slightly off from 65 Episodes and range from 62-67 episodes.

Please Help me with this petition, thank you.
